FLAVOR FLIES TM
Yes, we have developed some flavored flies. These flies were originally designed for jigging under the ice.
They are heavily and not easily to fly cast. They can be trolled and spin cast. Some states do not allow scented
or flavored flies, so they can not be fished everywhere. Yes, fishermen are catching fish with them.
There is a science to designing flavor that will hold up in water. Even using some of the best materials, the
flavor will weaken. We added a pad that is also flavored so that the fly can be returned to the package for
recharging. I have been studying this idea for years. Someone with over 50 years of mixing and processing
flavor materials provided me with the information that allowed me to achieve a working product.
I do want to point out that not all fly tying material will hold flavoring. Some material is much better than
others. Putting your favorite fly in the pack may not work the same as the fly provided.
I am well aware that putting flavoring on a fly was going to get fishermen talking. Have you every wondered
why your buddy is catching more fish with his fly than the new fly he just gave you. What do you think fish
saliva tastes like? What do you think happens to the saliva of that trout that just took your fly? No matter what
I make for flavoring, it will not be better than fish saliva. Fish saliva is longer lasting in water and is sticker than
any of my flavoring. Unless you clean your fly after every fish you catch, you are using a flavored fly.
